About the Good Books & Film Projects

The UB Libraries announce the Good Books and Good Films project, a list of 48 good books and films which embody the mission and spirit of the five UB 2020 themes of Curricular Distinction: humanity, justice, environment, innovation, and health. UB students, faculty and staff nominate books and films that have been personally important to them. The list of nominations is then voted on by librarians and faculty members. You could read one book or watch one film from this eclectic list, which ranges from biography to politics to the environment, each month over the course of your college career. Some of these titles may be familiar, others quite unknown, but this list embodies works that have inspired inquiry, pleasure, and a renewed engagement with civic life.
