Annex General Collection:

Items identified as part of the Libraries Annex General collection in the Library Catalog.

  • UB Libraries Guest Borrowers

    Items may be requested via Delivery+ with the Libraries catalog. Select the Delivery+ Book Request option in the holdings tab of the item you are requesting. Type in your login information from your Courtesy Card. You will be prompted to choose a pickup location.

    Eligible books will be delivered to the location chosen in the Pickup location within 3 business days. Users will be notified by email once the materials are available for pick-up. Items are also available for pick-up, from the Libraries Annex during normal business hours. To expedite retrieval of materials for on-site use, users are advised to contact the Libraries Annex at 716-645-5114, or by email at libannex@buffalo.edu. Please search the library catalog for the title and call number of the items you wish to use before calling the Annex.


Other Users:

Annex Non-Circulating Collection:

Items identified as part of the Libraries Annex Non-Circulating collection in the libraries catalog, cannot be charged out to patrons. Users may visit the Annex to use these materials in the reading room during hours the Annex is open. The stacks in the Annex are closed to patrons. To expedite retrieval of materials for on-site use, users are advised to contact the Annex staff at 716-645-5114, or by email at libannex@buffalo.edu. Please search library catalog for the title and call number of the items you wish to use before calling the Annex. The Reading Room is equipped with a state-of-the-art scanner allowing users to scan and either email or save the images to their portable USB drive (preferred).


Journal Articles and Book Chapters:

Journal articles and book chapters which are inclusive of materials housed at the Annex may be requested via an Delivery+ Non-UB user account. Electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters is a fee-based service. All book chapters and journal articles will be scanned and delivered to the user's desktop within one business day. To set up an account please contact the Information Delivery Office at 829-5758 or via email at hslids@buffalo.edu. On-site use of the materials is available free of charge.


Microfilm/microfiche Collection:

Microfiche materials that are housed at the Annex do not circulate and cannot be charged out to patrons. Patrons may visit the Annex to use these materials in the reading room during hours the Annex is open. The stacks in the Annex are closed to patrons. Since browsing is not permitted, the Annex staff must retrieve requested materials from the shelves. To expedite retrieval of materials for on-site use, users are advised to contact the Annex staff by phone at 716-645-5114 or by email at libannex@buffalo.edu. Please search library catalog for the title and microfiche document number of the items you wish to use before calling the Annex.  The Reading Room is equipped with a state-of-the-art microform scanner allowing users to scan and email or save to their USB drive the microform images.


On-Site Use of All Materials:

All library users may visit the Annex to utilize materials in the reading room during hours the Annex is open. The stacks in the Annex are closed to patrons. Special Collection/University Archives Materials:

All archival material and rare books from Special Collections which are stored at the Annex must be used in the Special Collections Research Room, 420 Capen Hall.  No on-site use of the material at the Annex is permitted. Material from Special Collections must be requested in advance by calling Special Collections at 716-645-2916 or by email at lib-archives@buffalo.edu. Special Collections staff will arrange for delivery of materials to 420 Capen Hall where the material can be used.
