The following comprehensive list of biomedical database will assist you in identifying citations to health-related journal articles. Online tutorials are available to guide you with searching MEDLINE, CINAHL, and NLM databases. A complete list of bibliographic and full-text databases may be found through the UB Libraries Databases by Title or Resources by Subject.
UB ONLY databases are restricted to current University at Buffalo faculty, staff, and students. Other individuals are welcome to visit the Health Sciences Library and conduct their research at library workstations.
PUBLIC databases are freely available to the general public via the Internet.

Databases by Title : G - I ![]() GeneCards is a comprehensive database of human genes and their mouse equivalents (homologs) that links gene information to disease, pathologies and mutational processes. Extensive search capabilities including searching by disease or by gene name to simultaneously retrieve genomic, proteomic, transcriptomic, and genetic information on all known and predicted human genes. For each gene, retrieves information on mutations, variations (SNPs), gene function, protein to protein interactions, known interactions with drugs and compounds and much more. The series is widely used and cited in the biomedical research field as many of its published articles from over the decades are still valid today. Each of its 400+ volume centers to a specific theme, edited by an internationally recognized scholar in that field.
