To connect to the biomedical databases from the Health Sciences Library home page, select "Biomedical Databases" from the menu on the left or select a biomedical database from this list.

MEDLINE Tutorials

MEDLINE is the premier database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and the pre-clinical sciences.

Ovid Tutorial - Interactive tutorial from Ovid designed to familiarize you with the core functionality of Ovid's search software. Scroll down to "New tutorials for Ovid SP".

PubMed Tutorial

PubMed Online Training - includes a link to the full tutorial (below), as well as "quick tours" using short, animated tutorials on how to search PubMed® most effectively, including managing results, saving searches, subject terms in MeSH, as well as links to other supporting resources.

PubMed Tutorial - the full web-based tutorial (also linked from the page above) which provides in-depth instruction on how to get the most out of PubMed. Note it uses the Adobe® Flash™ player, which can be downloaded from the link on the page, but it can be viewed without. Estimated time to complete the entire tutorial is one hour, but users can choose individual modules separately.
