The Communication Office engages in projects and activities that support the following goals:

• To develop articles and edit the University Libraries Access newsletter.
• To produce the University Libraries staff newsletter, Connect @ the Libraries.
• To publicize the resources, services, staff accomplishments and contributions of the University Libraries to the University, the Western New York community, SUNY, and academic research libraries.
• To market the resources and services of the University Libraries to the students, faculty, and staff of the University and to the Western New York community.
• To engage in special projects supporting curriculum and research at the University at Buffalo.
• To coordinate and participate in the development of exhibits in the University Libraries.
• To coordinate student prizes sponsored by the Libraries.
• To participate in the development of UB based digital collections.
• To represent the University Libraries when appropriate within the University at Buffalo and beyond.
• To prepare dossiers for promotion, continuing appointment, appointment, and reappointment for librarians in the Arts & Sciences Libraries.
