The web site is designed to introduce librarians (as well as teachers and parents) to the rich, diverse offerings from today's comics book publishers, and to encourage the acquisition of graphic novels in libraries serving young adults.
The site is compiled and maintained by librarian Michael R. Lavin, who is best known as the author of such reference books as Business Information: How to Find It, How to Use It (Oryx Press) and Understanding the Census (Epoch Books). Mr. Lavin is a recipient of the American Library Association's prestigious BRASS/Gale Research Award for Excellence in Business Librarianship, and he also serves as a visiting instructor on the faculty of UB's Department of Library and Information Studies.
