2-credit course offered each fall & spring semester

This course is designed to introduce students to the University at Buffalo (UB) Libraries, to library information resources, and to appropriate methods of conducting research. The course will provide students with the skills necessary to select a research topic, to analyze information sources, to cite those sources properly, and to address the evolving issues of intellectual freedom, plagiarism, and copyright.

Students who successfully complete ULC-257 will receive a waiver for their Library Skills Workbook requirement. See the ULC 257 Digital Archive for an online exhibit of research projects from this course.
