Library Research Station Access Card (yellow card)

A Library Research Station Access Card is needed for general Visitor's access privileges.

Library Research Station Access Card (yellow card)

Who can use a Library Research Station Access Card (yellow card)?

Members of the general community who are not eligible for a Courtesy Borrower / Library Research Station Access Card (blue card) (photo identification required)

How does the Library Research Station Access Card (yellow card) work?

Guests can access article databases and electronic journals on campus at the University Libraries by obtaining a yellow Library Research Station Access Card at any Circulation Desk. Photo identification is needed when applying for this card. The card is valid for one year. If you already have a blue Courtesy Borrower / Library Research Station Access Card, you do not need a yellow card.

Please note: Off-campus access to most electronic resources is not available to Alumni and Visitors due to licensing restrictions. However, you may find many useful web-based resources on our Web Reference Sources page.

How else can visitors gain access to databases?

If you are not currently affiliated with the University at Buffalo, you are unable to access our databases from outside the library. If you are a New York State resident, you can access databases freely through the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, the New York State Library's NOVELNY, and the New York Public Library.
