Locating Media Titles

Search Library Catalog - To search UB Libraries Media Collections, select "Advanced" from the Search Options. Under "Location/Collection" select "HSL Media Resources Center", "Silverman Multimedia [Capen]", or "Law Koren AV Center" to limit your search to one of the media centers. UB Libraries' Help A - Z page has more information about searching the entire catalog.

The UB Libraries now offers Streaming Videos for online viewing on campus or through VPN access. For a partial list of videos currently available, please check the Streaming Videos page. Searching in the Library Catalog with your search term + "streaming" or using advance search with location limited to "Streaming Audio/Video" will also show available streaming titles.

Other places outside UB to locate media:

WorldCat - WorldCat connects you to the collections and services of more than 10,000 libraries worldwide.

National Library of Medicine Catalog - The NLM Catalog provides access to NLM bibliographic data for journals, books, audiovisuals, computer software, electronic resources and other materials. Links to the library's holdings in LocatorPlus, NLM's online public access catalog, are also provided.

The following may help in locating web-based medical visuals:

  • YouTube
  • HealCentral - The Health Education Assets Library (HEAL) is a digital library that provides freely accessible digital teaching resources of the highest quality that meet the needs of today's health sciences educators and learners.
  • Educational Media Reviews Online
