Silverman Library Multimedia Center
Located on the first floor of the Silverman Library in Capen Hall, the Multimedia Center is open during all regular library hours. Enter through the Silverman Library on the first floor of Capen Hall. The Center provides equipment for viewing audiovisual materials with staff members available for assistance.
Health Sciences Library Multimedia Center & Multimedia Development Lab
Located in room 105 of the Health Sciences Library, Abbott Hall, South Campus. The Multimedia Development Lab provides equipment for digitizing analog materials, scanning, and media production. Please contact staff for appointment.
FINDING multimedia items in the UB Libraries
To search the UB Libraries Media Collections, use the search box on our web page. To perform a more advanced search, choose Advanced Search. Many titles in our collections are now available for streaming online directly from out catalog, please visit the Streaming Audio and Video in the UB Libraries page for more information.
BORROWING multimedia items from the UB Libraries
All multimedia items from Health Sciences and Silverman collections circulate for 10 days. Items may be requested via UB Document Express for delivery between North and South campuses.
Programs needed for classroom presentations or other special events, may be reserved. Faculty and staff may reserve Silverman & Health Sciences multimedia items through our online booking service.

A valid UB Card is required to borrow library materials. Local non-UB borrowers who meet eligibility requirements must obtain a University Libraries Special Borrowers Card and are under special restrictions.
Silverman and Health Sciences multimedia items may not be renewed without first consulting with the staff at the Silverman Multimedia Center at (716) 645-1328, HSL Multimedia Center at (716) 829-5745, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fines for overdue materials accrue at a higher rate than books: one dollar per day, per item, for 10 day loan items, maximum fine of $10. Reserve items accrue at a rate of .05 cents per minute, per item, $3 per hour, maximum fine of $20.
Other educational institutions wishing to borrow media materials should contact their local library's interlibrary loan department. There is a charge for loan of multimedia materials.
