Music Calendar Collection, 1968-2007

Approximately 150 music calendars from the United States and international sources. Most of the calendars in the collection feature reproductions of art and photographs that depict musical scenes, composers, performers, or instruments. Among the more well-represented topics in the collection are musical instruments, opera, jazz, and music manuscripts. Many calendars also include historical or biographical information, significant dates in musical history, and biographical or historical information about the creators of the artwork. In addition to reproductions of photographs and paintings, media represented include musical instruments, realia, sheet-music and album covers, and illuminated manuscripts and miniatures.

Finding Aid for C. F. Peters Collection of Morton Feldman Manuscripts, 1961-1969.

The collection consists of 79 works by Morton Feldman in either score or part formats (72 scores; 7 sets of parts). All but one item are ink manuscripts on vellum. These served as the masters that Feldman submitted to C. F. Peters and Peters published directly from these masters. Almost all of the manuscripts are in Morton Feldman's hand, except for two scores copied by John Cage and three items in the hand of a music copyist.

The collection of Morton Feldman Images by Jan Williams contains 56 slides taken during concert tours made by Feldman and Williams in 1974, 1977, and 1979. The tours were part of the activities of the Creative Associates and the Center of the Creative and Performing Arts at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. Locations of the images include Paris, London, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Barcelona, Perugia, Karlsrühe, Dartington and Harrogate, England, Hilversum, Shiraz, Iran, Padua, and Venice. Other musicians in the images include Lejaren Hiller, Eberhard Blum, Martha Herr Hanneman, Nils Vigeland, Dennis Kahle, David Gibson, Julius Eastman, Ralph Jones, Peter Gena, Jan Williams, Benjamin Hudson, Bunita Marcus, and Renée Levine, director of the Center of the Creative and Performing Arts.

Summaries of seven lectures and/or post-concert discussions by Morton Feldman in the Slee Lecture Recital Series at the University, 1972-1975. Transcriptions for three of the lectures are included.

The collection consists of printed materials and correspondence compiled by the noted British music librarian, bibliographer, and musicologist Alec Hyatt King.
