Photographs from the J. Warren Perry Collection
Opera Productions
The J. Warren Perry Collection contains approximately 200 photographs of opera productions. These are valuable for the information they contain about the practices of set design, staging, and costume design at different opera houses during different years. The example below from a 1961 production of Flotow's Martha is especially informative. It contains sketches for set and costume designs along with photographs of the realization of these designs for the production.
