**II.B.2: A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man:
Typescript of Publisher's Instructions for the Front Matter for the Second English Printing with American Sheets (1921):
Material Description and Collation: The manuscript consists of 3 loose sheets of typing paper that are purple ribbon top (original) copies; the versos are blank.
Measurements: The sheets measure 25.3 x 20.0 cm.
Pagination: The sheets are not numbered.
Contents: The manuscript consists of instructions by Harriet Shaw Weaver for changes to the front matter of the 1921 Egoist Press Edition (see MS II.B.1). Page [1] is a "list of books by the same writer"; p. [2] is the "title page"; and p. [3] is the "copyright notice and printing statement".
Dating: Weaver prepared these instructions in 1921.
Other Markings: There are notations in Joyce's hand in black ink on all the pages and printers' markings on p. [3] in pencil.
Publication: The manuscript has not been reproduced.
Notes: The pages have been folded twice horizontally and once vertically.
