*VI.I.13 [Also see VI.B.9]: "Work in Progress"/Finnegans Wake Emendations and Errata: Emendation for the Duplicate (Missing) Copy of the Typescript for This Quarter I.1/Finnegans Wake I.7 (1925):
Material Description, Collation and: The manuscript is a loose sheet of black-lined graph notepaper. Joyce used the sheet horizontally, with the perforated edge on the left hand side; the emendation is in Joyce's hand in black ink. The manuscript was torn from the notebook now catalogued as Finnegans Wake notebook MS VI.B.9 and is the same kind of paper as MSS VI.I.16, VI.J.1, and J.8.
Measurements: The manuscript measures 10.4 x 16.6 cm.
Contents: The manuscript is an extradraft sheet that contains instructions (presumably to Beach) to make a corresponding emendation on her copy of the typescript for the printer of This Quarter. See This Quarter 113.04–05 as well as FW 177.10.

Dating: Joyce probably made this emendation in July 1925.
Notes: Joyce also made the emendation on the extant typescript (BL 47474, f. 44; JJA 436) and it appears in the published text of This Quarter (the proofs of which are missing).
