Material Description and Collation: The manuscript consists of 2 loose sheets of Grand Hôtel des Bains & de Londres, Fécamp, stationery. Joyce wrote on the rectos and versos of both sheets, all in black ink.

Measurements: The manuscript measures 27.4 x 21.8 cm.

Contents: The manuscript is a letter to Beach in which Joyce instructs her to emend her (second carbon) copy of the typescript (BL 47474, fs. 186r–202r) for the printers of the Calendar of Modern Letters. Although a partial set of galley proofs was set up by the printers (BL 47474, fs. 204–206; JJA 48.153–155), "Anna Livia Plurabelle" was not published in the Calendar of Modern Letters.
