*VI.I.22: "Work in Progress"/Finnegans Wake Emendations and Errata: Emendations for a duplicate Copy of the Third Typescript Intended for the Calendar of Modern Letters /Finnegans Wake I.8 (1925):
Material Description and Collation: The manuscript is a loose sheet of blue stationery, torn along its top edge; the emendation is in Joyce's hand in black ink. The manuscript is the same kind of paper as MSS VI.I.14 and I.15, but the torn edges do not appear to coincide, suggesting that they come from different sheets of similar paper.
Measurements: The manuscript measures 6.0 x 21.1 cm.
Contents: The manuscript is an extradraft sheet that presumably contains instructions to Beach to emend her (second carbon) copy of the typescript (BL 47474, fs. 186r–202r) for the printers of the Calendar of Modern Letters. Although a partial set of galley proofs was set up by the printers (BL 47474, fs. 204–206; JJA 48.153–155), "Anna Livia Plurabelle" was not published in the Calendar of Modern Letters.See FW 201.19, 201.20 and 203.15–16.
JJA Draft Code: I.8§1.5"+.
Dating: The manuscript was probably written in July–August 1925.
Other Markings: The manuscript is headed "Anna Livia" in the top left corner in Joyce's hand in black ink.
