Material Description and Collation: The manuscript is a loose sheet of unruled paper, probably torn from a tablet, with writing on the recto and verso; the emendations are in Beach's hand in blue pencil and black ink and Joyce's hand in lead pencil.
Measurements: The sheets measure 21.0 x 14.0 cm.
Contents: This manuscript confirms emendations to the marked pages of transition 8. See Anna Livia Plurabelle 23.17, 30.15, 31.08, 33.05, 34.12, 46.04, 50.02–04, 54.05–06, 55.05–06 as well as FW 203.24, 206.02, 206.08, 206.31, 207.12, 211.07, 212.16–17, 213.30, 214.06.
JJA Draft Code: I.8§1.11+.
Dating: The manuscript was probably prepared in November 1927.
Other Markings: Joyce wrote "p.t.o." [please turn over] in the lower right corner of the recto in lead pencil.
Publication: The manuscript was published on JJSB131–132 (#129).
Notes: All of these emendations verify Joyce's own additions to the marked pages of transition 8 (Yale 7.7, fs. 17–35; JJA 48.218–227). Beach clarified some of the marginal additions on the marked pages to correspond with this manuscript. This manuscript was most likely sent to Joyce with the eight emendations in blue pencil on the recto, to which Joyce added further corrections and changes in pencil. Subsequently, Joyce mailed the sheet back to Beach around November 1927. The emendation in Beach's hand in ink was most likely added at a later stage. The changes, as instructed in this manuscript, do not appear in any subsequent draft or printing of the text.
