*VI.I.4 [Also X.C.127 (X.C.121)]: "Work in Progress"/Finnegans Wake Emendations and Errata: Emendations for the Galley Proofs for transition 2/Finnegans Wake I.2 (1927):
Material Description and Collation: The manuscript is a loose sheet of Shakespeare & Company stationary, with the watermark "L.B.N. | [Hiron]". The emendation is in Joyce's hand in black ink.
Measurements: The manuscript measures 27.0 x 21.0 cm.
Contents: The manuscript is a letter to Beach in which he instructs her to have the printer emend the proofs of transition 2 (May 1927); the emendation arrived too late for incorporation in transition 2 and does not appear in any subsequent draft or printing of the text. See transition 2, 104.10 as well as FW 044.24.

Dating: The manuscript was probably written in May 1927.
Publication: The correspondence was published on LI252–253; JJSB117–118 (#100); as well as Shakespeare & Company, p. 89, where it is reproduced in part, though misdated by Beach.
