Gordon R. Gross

Gordon R. Gross earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo in 1952 and graduated from the UB Law School in 1955.  He was a founding partner of the Buffalo law firm Gross Shuman, formerly Gross, Shuman, Brizdle and Gilfillan.  Gross and his wife Gretchen were generous donors to the University at Buffalo.  They endowed a professorship in the UB Department of Jewish Thought, a classroom in the Law School was named in their honor and they donated to the UB School of Dental Medicine in memory of Gross's brother Alan, who taught in the school.  Gross received numerous awards and citations from the University at Buffalo including the Distinguished Law Alumni Award and the Samuel P. Capen Award.  Gross served on a number of committees and advisory boards at UB.  A passionate cyclist, Gordon Gross was one of the top fundraisers for the Ride For Roswell, raising over $10,000 in 2003 alone.
