Charges for Lost Library Materials to be Reinstated

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022

Beginning March 1, 2022, the University Libraries will reinstate charges for lost library materials. These charges had been temporarily waived since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If library materials are not returned by 30 days past the due date, they are presumed lost.

There are several ways to return materials borrowed through UB Libraries:

  • At a Library Services Desk in Abbott, Law, Lockwood or the Music Library
  • At a library book drop box:
    • Outside of Lockwood Library facing the Alfiero Center on Mary Talbert Way
    • Outside of Lockwood Library main entrance on the 2nd floor
    • Outside of Abbott Library facing the Diefendorf Loop
    • Outside of the Law Library main entrance on the 2nd floor of O’Brian Hall
  • At any SUNY library
  • By mail: University at Buffalo Delivery Services, 235 Lockwood Memorial Library, Buffalo, NY 14260
  • By UB Campus Mail: University Libraries Delivery Services, 235 Lockwood Library, North Campus. Please use a UB Libraries reusable bag if available.

An individual’s UB Library account will be blocked from borrowing additional materials from University Libraries, including home or office delivery, when materials are 10 or more days overdue.

Delivery+ accounts will be blocked from requesting additional materials when resource sharing materials borrowed from other lending libraries are 10 or more days overdue.
