Welcome to the Oscar A. Silverman Library

The Oscar A. Silverman Library is located in Capen Hall on the North Campus of the University at Buffalo. The library features a variety of research, reading, and study spaces for undergraduates and graduate students. Silverman Library is home to a number of major units within the University Libraries:

The Science and Engineering Information Center on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Silverman houses subject specialist librarians offices and collections primarily supporting the research and teaching missions of the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences.

The Map Collection, located on the 3rd floor, serving the entire university community.

The Multimedia Center, a multidisciplinary resource and service center on the 1st floor for audio-visual materials covering all areas of study across the disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, fine and applied arts, sciences, and technology.

Silverman Library also houses other valuable resources and staff-supported services to the benefit of our university community:

Cybrary sites located on the 1st and 3rd floors of the library for computer access which are managed by UBIT.
