In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, several new displays in the Charles B. Sears Law Library celebrate the Haudenosaunee communities of Western New York.
Featured items include maps from two of the Law Library’s Special Collections: The Iroquois Books of Marilyn L. Haas, a collection of books and materials on the Haudenosaunee; and The Howard R. Berman Collection, a collection of books and personal papers that focus on Indian Nations within New York State and the rights of indigenous peoples worldwide. Also on display is a summary of Seneca Treaties and land issues that center on the Buffalo Creek Reservation (where the University at Buffalo now resides).
