2022 Dr. John Bishop Memorial Visiting Scholar Talk: “More Than a Publisher: Sylvia Beach and Shakespeare & Company in the James Joyce Collection” by Francesca Mancino

Francesca Mancino spent two weeks in August as the first Visiting Scholar supported by the Dr. John Bishop Memorial Visiting Scholar Fund. Francesca Mancino researched materials across the UB James Joyce Collection to explore the role of the publisher of Ulysses, Sylvia Beach. She graduated in May 2022 with her MA in English from Case Western Reserve University and runs Lost Modernists and The Collected Crane Archives. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in Modernism/modernity, The Faulkner Journal, The Journal of Wyndham Lewis Studies, and elsewhere.
