Tuesday, July 18th, 2023

The State University of New York Librarians Association (SUNYLA) recently announced Laura Taddeo, Head of the University at Buffalo Libraries Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences Team, as the winner of the 2023 SUNYLA Mentor Award.

As stated by SUNYLA, “This award honors and encourages the efforts and dedication of individuals in the library field who have demonstrated exceptional commitment with mentoring members of SUNYLA. It acknowledges support a SUNYLA member received to expand their knowledge and expertise within the library and information field.”

“Laura is exceptionally committed to mentoring. This is apparent in the way she leads her team, how she helps guide pre-tenure people through the tenure process, and how she helps people new to her team find their place and their voice” says Donna Berryman, Associate University Librarian for Research, Collections and Outreach. “Laura has a wealth of experience as an academic librarian and as a leader in the UB Libraries. More importantly, people know that Laura genuinely cares about people.”

Congratulations on this well-deserved award Laura!
