Elizabeth “Beth” Carpenter was recently elected to the State University of New York Librarians Association (SUNYLA) Executive Board as the 1st vice-president/president elect.
In this leadership role, Carpenter will be responsible for coordinating all SUNYLA delegates and preparing the slate of candidates for the annual elections. This position will be a three-year commitment, as the 1st vice-president assumes the role of SUNYLA president following the annual conference and serves as Past President in the third year.
“I find SUNYLA to be a very welcoming and engaging group to be a part of,” Carpenter said. “I joined the SUNYLA Information Literacy Committee within my first few months of starting at UB, and from then on have enjoyed the annual conferences, webinars, and, most of all, the people. Getting to support SUNYLA in this capacity is exciting because it means I get to meet and work with librarian delegates across the state and help keep the community that I enjoy going strong!”
