Please join us in congratulating Peggy Pajak as she embarks on a well-deserved retirement from the University Libraries.
Since joining the Libraries in 1998, Peggy has played a vital role in our preservation program, bringing expertise and dedication to projects that have expanded access to countless materials. Her career began after transitioning from Roswell Park, where she worked as a graphic designer, and has since spanned an impressive 26 years of service at UB.
Peggy’s contributions include reformatting print materials, digitization, and photoduplication services. She worked on significant collections from the Anderson Gallery, numerous WNYLRC reformatting projects, and specialized scanning initiatives for university faculty and departments.
Notable accomplishments include digitizing the John Lord O’Brian and Howard R. Berman archival collections from the Law Library and the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church ledgers held by the University Archives. Peggy also spent two years digitizing the Music Library Poster Collection, comprising 3,334 unique posters, and scanned hundreds of blueprints and building plans for Architecture & Planning.
Her contributions to preserving brittle books are equally remarkable. Over 10,000 volumes were reformatted and preserved for circulation as part of an ongoing effort launched in the mid-1980s.
Let’s celebrate Peggy’s incredible career and wish her health, happiness, and new adventures in retirement.
