The University Libraries joined the nationwide celebration of Banned Books Week Oct. 5–11. This year’s theme, “Censorship Is So 1984. Read for Your Rights,” highlighted the growing number of challenges to books across the country and underscored the importance of defending the freedom to read. The Libraries hosted a Banned Books Café, giving students the opportunity to enjoy beverages, snacks, crafts while browsing a selection of banned and challenged books. Photos: Julie Pavlock
