Womens history team trivia.

March 24, 2026: 4pm - 5pm

Silverman Library, 305 Capen Hall

Are you up for the challenge? Join us for an afternoon of exciting, engaging trivia focused on remarkable women throughout history. 

Bring some friends, play individually, or get matched with a team at the event. There will be snacks for everyone and prizes for the top teams! Come out, show off your smarts, and meet other UB students who love a little friendly competition. 

Themed around Women’s History Month, trivia questions will cover a wide range of topics, including books, music, movies, pop culture, and history.

In recognition of Women's History Month, join us for a screening of Pride & Prejudice (2005), starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. This adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel explores love, marriage and class in 18th-century England.

Introductory remarks will be offered by Dr. Alice Villaseñor, faculty development programs lead at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and a Jane Austen scholar with a doctorate in English and a graduate certificate in gender studies.

Light refreshments will be served.

Join us for a compelling discussion with Dr. Monica Miles, Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Education at the University at Buffalo and co-founder of Mother Earth Literacies. Dr. Miles will explore contemporary environmental challenges in Western New York through the lens of environmental justice, community engagement, and equitable access to healthy environments.

Silverman Library, Whispers Café

Plant seeds using provided supplies or take home a plant while learning about local and native species. Discover environmentally friendly planting practices and learn more about sustainability initiatives happening across campus.

April 14, 2026: 11am - 1pm

South Campus, Abbott Library, Classroom 130

Therapy dogs will return to Abbott Library for monthly visits during the spring semester. The visits are designed to give students, faculty and staff a chance to take a break, reduce stress and enjoy the company of friendly dogs.

Join us for a powerful and deeply human conversation as journalist and author Keith O’Brien, writer of Paradise Falls: The True Story of an Environmental Catastrophe, sits down with Luella Kenny, a former Love Canal resident and activist whose story is central to O’Brien’s acclaimed book.
