Celebrate Curator Michael Basinski’s distinguished 32-year career in the Poetry Collection and his remarkable accomplishments as a poet, sound performer, and visual artist.

The University Libraries and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library (B&ECPL) commemorated the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death with a Wedding of the Folios on October 4, 2016.

Featuring a lecture by Donald Sheehy, Professor of English at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and co-editor of The Letters of Robert Frost.

The Poetry Collection mourns the loss of its longtime curator Robert J. Bertholf, who died February 19 at his home in Austin, Texas.

Last year, the Poetry Collection received a $150,600 grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) to catalog and create online finding aids for the editorial and business records of eleven poetry magazine archives.  

The James Joyce Collection features a 1966 bronze maquette of James Joyce.

Several UB Librarians featured in  “Acts of Curation: The Curating of Poetry & The Poetics of Curating”

The Poetry Collection is home to the World War I knapsack of poet and novelist Robert Graves.
