Abbott Mezzanine Study Rooms Now Lockable and Reservable

Need a quiet spot to focus or finish that last-minute assignment? Our 14 individual study Rooms—located on the 2nd-floor mezzanine of Abbott Library—just got an upgrade! We’ve added locks to each room to improve your experience and ensure everyone has fair access.

This change comes in response to student feedback and our ongoing commitment to making UB Libraries a welcoming, secure, and productive place to study. The new locks help prevent misuse and keep the rooms available for those who need them most.

Here’s what’s new:

• Reserve your space: Book a room for up to 2 hours per day through the Libraries Booking page
• Key pickup: Stop by the Library Services Desk on the 1st floor of Abbott Library to check out your key
• Private and secure: Doors now lock from the inside for added privacy and peace of mind
