UB Faculty and staff now have access to enhanced technology in two flexible studio spaces located on the second floor of Silverman Library.

Rooms 201C and 201D have been outfitted with updated audiovisual capabilities designed to support collaboration, hybrid meetings and innovative teaching practices. The upgrades build upon the Libraries’ vision for the spaces as adaptable environments that encourage experimentation and interdisciplinary engagement.

Both rooms now feature hybrid conferencing technology, allowing participants to connect seamlessly with colleagues and students joining remotely. Users can present content via traditional wired HDMI connections or use AirMedia technology to wirelessly project onto the room’s displays.

Room 201C offers additional functionality to support collaborative work. The space includes three monitors with screen-sharing capabilities and can be configured for breakout sessions, making it well-suited for workshops, team meetings, active learning activities and group projects.

Originally introduced in 2024, the flexible studio spaces were designed to provide faculty and staff with environments that could adapt to a variety of instructional, research and professional needs. The addition of new technology further expands the ways the spaces can be used, from hybrid presentations and collaborative planning sessions to specialized programming and hands-on learning experiences.

Reservations for both spaces can be made through the University Libraries reservation page.  Faculty and staff interested in exploring the rooms' capabilities are also encouraged to schedule a tour.
