As Scholarly Publishing Librarian, Jonathan Grunert works with departmental liaisons to identify and develop services to meet the evolving publishing needs of University researchers and scholars, advocating for innovative and experimental models of scholarly publishing. He works to provide scholarly communication education through collaboration with departmental liaisons, information technologists, and university researchers in an effort to develop tools and services to facilitate sustainable scholarly production. This includes investigating collaborative library publishing opportunities with University and external partners. Working with University and external partners, including researchers and instructors, as well as institutional repository administrators, he aims to advance open research and scholarship and to build capacity in the open research environment.
Dr. Grunert manages UB ScholarWorks, UB Libraries’ open access publishing platform for University-created electronic journals. Future projects may include conference proceedings, capstone projects, literary magazines, scientific datasets, and other born-digital materials.
