Responsibilities

As a Teaching & Learning Strategist, she assists the UB community and beyond to effectively use emerging technologies to support teaching, learning, and research. 

Her responsibilities include oversight of the Silverman Library, including the one-button media creation studios, media editing suites, equipment loaner program, and the technology-enhanced classrooms and study rooms.

She also serves as the Director of the SUNY Exploring Emerging Technologies for Lifelong Learning and Success (#EmTechMOOC) ( http://suny.edu/emtech ). #EmTechMOOC is an open-access resource that is targeted to the lifelong learning needs of students, faculty, staff, and anyone from across the globe who have a desire to keep pace with technology change. #EmTechMOOC is supported by the University at Buffalo Libraries, Binghamton University’s Center for Learning and Teaching (CELT), and the SUNY Center for Professional Development (CPD).

Research

Sullivan’s research includes investigating innovative digital pedagogy to assist students, faculty, and other stakeholders to explore and implement established and emerging technologies. Sullivan’s research also includes the examination of how and why people learn.  

Awards

Sullivan has been awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. She has been recognized through a SUNY Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching and Technology (FACT2) Excellence in Instructional Support award for her work on the Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP) and she is a recipient of three Open SUNY Effective Practice Awards.
