Troubleshooting Login Problems

If you are unable to access library resources via your UBIT login, please read through all the troubleshooting below:

  • Is your UBITName in the system?

    Check to make sure your UBITName is in the UB system as a student, faculty, staff or volunteer affiliation. If your UBITName does not appear in the system, please contact the UBIT Help Desk.

  • Duo Two-Step Verification

    All current UB students, staff and faculty are required to use Duo Two-Step Verification to access library accounts and databases. Make sure to have Duo installed on your device.

  • Clear Browser Cache

    Odd behaviors can occur when cookies or cache files become corrupted. Try clearing your cookies and cache and restarting your browser. If you would prefer not to clear your cache, users can try using an incognito/private browser window.

  • Proxy Server Block

    Some users can be blocked via our proxy server. A message will appear with instructions on how to remove the block from your account.

  • Did you change your UBITName password?

    If you are having login error messages, check to see if you changed your password.
