William F. Jacobs Collection, 1886-1959

The William F. Jacobs Collection is a compilation of personal and professional papers related to the life and career of William Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs was the first full time hospital pathologist in Buffalo. He served in may area hospitals such as Meyer Memorial and Niagara Falls Memorial. In addition,  he was a former president and treasurer of the Buffalo Academy of Medicine.

Included in the collection are: Correspondence of William F. Jacobs, his wife Ellen Dean Jacoabs and his family; birth and death certificate stubs 1915-1923 from Dr. Jacob's career as a pathologist; minutes and other records of the Buffalo Pathological society, 1888-1893; personal reminiscences by Dr. Jacobs on his career as a pathologist; articles about ballistics, bullet wounds, and life in Northern Canada by Dr. David Wheeler and Harley Jackson; and World War I papers such as military identification cards,  and Armistice telegram, and a letter from France of Corp. W.L Koksch, 1919.
