Ask a Research Question

Our team of reference librarians at the Charles B. Sears Law Library are available to assist you in finding and utilizing legal information resources. We can help with research questions, locating relevant materials, and providing guidance on how to use library resources, including legal databases and websites.

For example, we can:

  • Suggest specific books, journals, databases, websites or other resources that might be appropriate to your research topic.
  • Show you how particular books or databases are organized and indexed.
  • Help verify a citation or that we own a particular book, journal, or online resource.

We are unable to provide legal advice. Additional resources are available here: New York Legal Assistance Programs.

UB Law students can schedule an individual research consultation with a reference librarian for assistance with papers or other research projects.
