Sparkle Moore Furnas

Sparkle Furnas was born in Zionville, Indiana.  She earned a BS from Purdue University (1924) and an MS from the University of Minnesota (1930).  During Clifford C. Furnas' tenure as the leader of UB (Chancellor 1954-1962; President 1962-1966), Sparkle Furnas was active in promoting the university and was a strong supporter of the UB Women's Club.  After her husband's death, Sparkle Furnas wrote his three-volume biography and with the help of her family, created the Clifford C. Furnas Scholar/Athlete Award at UB.  She also established the Clifford C. Furnas Memorial Room in the Office of the President which held mementos of his life and career.
