Richard E. BaldwinBorn: 1932
In 1968, Richard Baldwin was hired by UB as Assistant for Community Relations and Director of Sports Information. Over his long career at UB, he would hold a number of positions in the area of public relations, including Associate Director of Conferences and Special Events, where he would coordinate the university's many annual commencement ceremonies.
An athlete himself, Baldwin was involved with many aspects of athletics at UB. He was the public address announcer at UB football and basketball home games, the coach/manager of the Office of the President's softball team, and in in 1971 wrote a history of UB athletics. Baldwin was also on the respective steering committees when the Empire State Games and the World University Games were held at UB.
