Jack Meacham

John Allen "Jack" Meacham was born in Buffalo, New York October 4, 1944.  He earned a B.A. in psychology from Stanford University (1966), and both an M.A. (1967) and Ph.D. (1972) in psychology from the University of Michigan.  Meacham joined the faculty of the University at Buffalo Department of Psychology in 1972.  He was promoted to associate professor in 1977 and full professor in 1985.  Meacham was named Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education in 1990 and held the post for two years.  From 1998-2004, he served as an adjunct professor of African American Studies and was the chair of the Department of Psychology from 1999-2002.  In 1999, Meacham was named Distinguished Teaching Professor by the State University of New York.  He retired from the UB in 2006.
