Lester W. Milbrath

Lester W. Milbrath received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina. He joined the Political Science Department at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1966, after teaching at the University of Tennessee, Duke University and Northwestern University. In December 1969, he was named to head the Social Science Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration, which was formed to coordinate organized research conducted by UB faculty. In 1976, he was named Director of the Environmental Studies Center and appointed to the University Steering Committee on Regional Environmental Problems in 1978.  Lester Milbrath retired from the University at Buffalo as emeritus professor of political science and sociology in 1991.
