Robert S. Newman

Robert S. Newman was a long-time professor in the University at Buffalo's English Department.  He received his B.A (1956), M.A. (1957) and Ph.D. (1964) in English all from the University of California, Los Angeles.  Newman was an assistant professor of English at San Fernando State College from 1964-1967.  He joined the UB faculty in 1967 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 1972.  In 1974, Newman was named Master of UB's Tolstoy College.  During his career at UB, he served on a number of departmental and university-wide committees.
