Victor Rice was appointed to the UB Council in September 2000. A notable philanthropist and corporate citizen, Rice was a trustee of the Buffalo Olmstead Parks Conservancy, board president of the Library Foundation of Buffalo and Erie County, chair of the Board of the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation and a trustee of Canisius College. He was a supporter of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shaw Festival Theatre.
