Ellen Shulman Baker

Ellen Shulman Baker graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1974 with a BA in Geology.  In 1978, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Cornell University.  Dr. Baker joined NASA in 1981 and was selected as an astronaut in 1984.  She flew into outer space on three space shuttle missions and spent a total of 686 hours, 8 minutes and 30 seconds in space.
