Conrad F. Toepfer Jr.

Conrad Toepfer was known for his work in transforming middle school education in the United States.  He received his B.A. in English Literature (1955), Ed.M. in Secondary Education (1956) and Ed.D. in Curriculum Planning (1962), all from the University at Buffalo.  In 1965, Toepfer joined the faculty of the UB Graduate School of Education as assistant professor.  He would be promoted to associate professor in 1969 and full professor in 1989.  In 1996, Toepfer received the Distinguished Alumni Award from UB.  He retired from the university in 2000.
