Josephine Dolores Wise

Josephine Wise was born on September 28, 1923 in Brooklyn. Wise received a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College in history and political science in 1943. She moved to Buffalo in 1955, where she became a substitute teacher in the Buffalo Public School system, then taught elementary school full-time beginning in 1962. Wise became assistant to the chair of computer science at UB in 1966, and later moved to the statistics department, where she worked until she retired in 1982. Wise died at her home in Maplewood, New Jersey on December 15, 2017.
