Howard Blane
Death: 2019Howard Blane was a renowned researcher in the field of addictions, focusing on alcohol use disorders and alcohol use among young adults. Blane graduated from Harvard University in 1950 and received his Ph.D. from Clark University in 1957. In 1986, after a long career at the University of Pittsburgh, Blane was named Director of UB's Research Institute on Addictions. He held that position for ten years.
