Rocco C. Venuto

Rocco C. Venuto was born in Niagara Falls on October 15, 1941 and received his bachelor’s degree from Niagara University. In 1967, he received his medical degree from UB. Venuto was a leading researcher on chronic kidney disease and treatment whose research focused on how to improve care in kidney patients. He was a leading advocate for organ donation and co-founded Upstate New York Transplant Services.  Venuto, long serving chief of nephrology in UB's Department of Medicine, received his award for 50 years of service to the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the school’s Stockton Kimball ceremony in June of 2019.
