Sebastian G. Ciancio

Sebastian Ciancio, a world-renowned expert in periodontology, began his long relationship with the University at Buffalo in 1955 when he was admitted as an undergraduate in the College of Art and Sciences. Ciancio would go on to earn his D.D.S. from the School of Dentistry (1961) and a certificate in periodontology (1965). He began teaching at the university in 1964 and would go on to serve as the chair of the Department of Periodontology for many years. Throughout his career, Ciancio was known as a dedicated researcher, educator and mentor.
