The manuscript is a loose sheet of Régina Palace Hotel, Arcachon, Gironde, stationery, watermarked "TOLOSA | Labruchefres | Toulouse" with a cross. The emendations are in Joyce’s hand in black ink.

The manuscript measures 27.3 x 21.0 cm.
Contents
The manuscript is a letter to Beach in which Joyce instructs her to emend her (second carbon) copy of the typescript (BL 47474, fs. 186r–202r) for the printers of the Calendar of Modern Letters. The manuscript was written on 22 August 1925.
Other Markings
The manuscript is headed "a" in the top right corner in Joyce’s hand in black ink. Beach wrote "(?)" beside the twentieth emendation on the recto although she subsequently managed to follow Joyce’s instructions.
