Material Description and Collation

The manuscript is a loose sheet of Grand Hotel-Restaurant Victoria, The Hague,stationery. Joyce wrote the emendation in black ink.


Measurements

The manuscript measures 27.3 x 21.4 cm.

The manuscript is a letter to Beach in which Joyce instructs her to have the editor emend the proofs of transition 4 (July 1927); the emendations were not made on transition 4 and only partially incorporated on a subsequent version of the text. See transition 4, 65.26–28 as well as FW 102.33–35.

The correspondence was published on JJSB126–127 (#117).


Other Markings

In the upper right corner of the recto, Beach wrote "Battle of Waterloo June 18 1927" in blue ink and "(June 18 1818)" in black ink above.
